Planes, Trains, and Taxis!

Leaving Coco Beach and Vietnam was hard - all three of us enjoyed our time there and at the end it felt like maybe we were just going to stay forever, BUT all good things do come to an end.

Yesterday we boarded a plane that landed in Guangzhou, then we took a taxi to the train station where we got on a train headed to Hong Kong. On the train DD befriended an incredibly nice Japanese girl who gave her a packet of Disney princesses stickers (DD favorite). I was thrilled that someone occupied her time during the 2 hour train ride so that I could sit back and enjoy the countryside. Before you knew it we were pulling into the Hong Kong train station and saying goodbye to our new friends.

Arriving in Hong Kong at night is visual stimulus overload - neon signs, cars, lights, and people everywhere! Walking into our hotel, it started to feel a lot like the American Christmas we are used to - the hotel had not one, not two but four REAL Christmas trees to greet us - they smell wonderful! It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas!
